More Than a Hotel — A Family Tradition
The Boyd family has called the Leavenworth valley home for over fifty years. When the Bavarian Lodge first opened in 2005, it grew out of a simple idea: a family-run lodge could offer something different — real warmth, personal attention, and a genuine connection to this place.
We’re independently owned, and we like it that way. It means we can do things our way — say yes when it matters, change course when something isn’t working, and put every dollar back into making your stay better. The expansion we did in 2014 and 2015 grew the lodge to its current 90 rooms — including fireplace rooms, balcony rooms, and turret suites. Every decision still goes through the family, not a boardroom.
Being independent also means being part of something bigger here in Leavenworth. The village’s story — from struggling timber town to one of the most beloved small towns in the Northwest — is a story we’ve been part of for decades. The local bakeries, the family restaurants, the festivals that bring this place to life from Oktoberfest to the Christmas Lighting — we’re proud to be woven into all of it.
The People Who Make It Work
The Boyd family started the Bavarian Lodge and still runs it today. But if you’ve stayed with us, you know that what makes the experience special is the people you actually meet — at the front desk, in the dining room, keeping your room just right, pouring your beer at the Woodsman Pub.
Our team is the reason guests come back. They’re the ones who remember your name, who go out of their way to make a birthday trip feel extra special, who keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Many of them have been with us for years, and quite a few are part of the Leavenworth community themselves.
